Marca newspaper revealed that Paris Saint-Germain made a historic offer to Barcelona to sign Lamine Yamal next summer.
According to the Spanish newspaper, the French club is willing to pay 200 million euros to bring in the 16-year-old after his great brilliance this season.
Yamal’s agent, Georgi Mendes, was in Barcelona in recent days to inform Joan Laporta’s management about the Parisian interest in his client and to discuss a potential huge deal.
But for Joan Laporta’s management, abandoning Yamal will not happen, no matter how tempting the offer is, considering that he is the best player the youth sector has produced since Lionel Messi.
Even despite the strong economic crisis that Barcelona is going through and its need to sell players to finance new deals, Yamal is the last name that may be allowed to leave.
Barcelona finds itself in a strong position given that the player’s contract still extends until the summer of 2027, and there is a release clause of one billion euros that is impossible for any club to pay.
