The French city of Monaco hosted the 2024-2025 Champions League draw with the new group stage system.
Fans are used to the old system with the participation of 32 teams divided into 8 groups, from which the first two teams qualify to the round of 16.
The new system now involves the participation of 36 teams, all playing in one group, and each team plays 8 matches, 4 at home and 4 away.
From the total points for each team, the clubs’ positions are determined, and the first to eighth place qualifies directly to the round of 16, and clubs from 9 to 24 play a play-off from which 8 others qualify for the next round.
