Spanish media reported that Barcelona fans are planning a very bad reception for Ousmane Dembélé at the Luis Companis Olympic Stadium next Tuesday.
Dembele scored the equalizer for PSG against Barcelona, and celebrated madly without respecting the 5 years he spent in the Catalan jersey before moving to Paris last summer.
Because of the way the French international was celebrated, Barca fans plan to deal with him in the same way they treated the Portuguese Luis Figo when he moved to Real Madrid at the turn of the millennium.
Barca fans at the time did not stop cursing Figo at Camp Nou, and they even threw a pig’s head at him to express their dissatisfaction with his betrayal and joining the eternal rival.
It is now expected that Dembele will receive similar treatment in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, which puts more pressure on the Paris star than now after the 3-2 first-leg defeat.
Press reports pointed out that Barcelona fans compared the way Dembele celebrated with the way Coutinho celebrated when he scored against Ter Stegen, and how the Brazilian, despite everything he suffered at Barcelona, respected his fans.
As for Dembele, although he found unlimited support from the Barcelona fans, coach Xavi Hernandez, and the administration, he did not respect that and celebrated in an unacceptable way that made him deserve special treatment upon returning to Catalonia again.
