Bayern Munich officially announced that it will lose the services of Kingsley Coman against Arsenal on Wednesday in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals due to injury.
During the French international’s participation in the match between Bayern and Cologne on Saturday in the Bundesliga, he suffered a severe injury to his thigh, and according to the club, he will be away from the field for weeks.
German media indicate that the season is over for Koeman, but his chances remain high of joining the French national team camp participating in Euro 2024.
This is Koeman’s second injury this season, as he injured his cruciate ligament last January and was sidelined before returning only two weeks ago against Borussia Dortmund.
On a related note, Manuel Neuer was also injured, but before the Cologne match and did not participate in it. However, he is expected to join the scheduled Arsenal match at the Allianz Arena.
It remains to be noted that Bayern will also lose Serge Gnabry to Arsenal after he was injured in the first leg and was confirmed to be out of action for a period of time.
