The Disciplinary Committee of the Saudi Football Federation decided to punish Cristiano Ronaldo after the events that took place in the Al Hilal Super Cup semi-final match.
Ronaldo assaulted Ali Al-Bulaihi, Al Hilal’s defender, and received a red card in the match that ended with the Blue Wave’s 2-1 victory and qualification to the final.
According to Al-Riyadiah newspaper, the match referee noted in his report that what Ronaldo did was disgraceful behavior, and therefore the regulation will be applied to the Portuguese star.
Ronaldo is scheduled to be suspended for two matches in the Saudi League, and fined 20,000 Saudi riyals.
Thus, the 39-year-old will miss the Al-Fayhaa and Al-Khaleej matches in the next two weeks, and will return against Al-Khaleej in the King’s Cup semi-finals at the beginning of next May.
It is noteworthy that this suspension is the second suspension that Ronaldo has been subjected to this season, after he was previously suspended for a match due to disgraceful actions he made to Al-Shabab fans.
