Bayern Munich announced in an official statement that Rafael Guerrero will be absent from facing Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final due to injury.
The Portuguese star suffered the injury minutes after the start of the match between Bayern Munich and Stuttgart on Saturday, which ended in a 3-1 defeat by Bayern.
According to Bayern’s statement, Guerrero is suffering from an ankle ligament injury that will likely cause him to be absent until the end of the current season.
Thus, the 30-year-old joins the list of absences of the Bavarian giant from the Real Madrid match, which includes Kingsley Coman, Sascha Boye and Bouna Sarr.
Guerrero participated in the first leg as a substitute, and when he entered the field, Bayern succeeded in adjusting and making progress, which confirms that his absence from the second leg is a major blow to Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
It is noteworthy that Eric Dier was also injured in the head during the Stuttgart match, but everything is reassuring and confirms that the English defender can participate against Real Madrid without a problem.
