The newspaper “Marca” reported that Real Madrid’s management intends to reward Joselu for his outstanding season in general, and his great brilliance against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finals in particular.
The 34-year-old striker participated as a substitute in the return match against Bayern at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, where he scored two goals that led his team to reach the final.
According to Marca, the administration is very close to activating the clause to buy Joselu from Espanyol, and granting him an offer to sign permanently for a year with the Royal Club.
Joselu is well-liked in the Real Madrid dressing room, the coaching staff adores him, and the club are very happy with the way he has handled his role as a substitute striker.
It is not expected that the player will reject the offer made to him by Real Madrid, especially since Florentino Perez’s management policy is consistent with all those over the age of 30 with a one-year renewal and a non-huge salary.
This season, Joselu participated in 46 matches in all tournaments, scoring 16 goals and making two more goals, in one of the best seasons of his career ever.
