UEFA has announced the referee who will officiate the match between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in the 2024 Champions League final.
The match scheduled for Wembley Stadium will be led by Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic, who has never officiated a match involving Real Madrid throughout his career.
Vincic is considered one of the elite referees on the old continent, and this season he officiated 5 matches in the Champions League, and the biggest match he officiated in his career was the Europa League final in 2022 between Eintracht Frankfurt and Rangers.
At the same time, Vincic managed one match for Borussia Dortmund, this season in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, against Atletico Madrid, where the German club won 4-2, which makes him a “good omen” for Edin Terezic’s squad.
The 44-year-old participated in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where he officiated two matches, one of which was the Saudi national team’s historic 2-1 victory over Argentina in the first round of the group stage.
