The German newspaper “Bild” reported that Real Madrid’s management has drawn up a crazy plan for how things will proceed within the Royal Club in the summer of 2025.
The Spanish club is currently targeting the signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, who all sources say would welcome a departure from the BayArena in the summer of 2025.
But Real Madrid’s plan does not only include including Wirtz, as Florentino Perez would like to bring with him from Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso.
Alonso had announced that he would continue with Leverkusen next season, but starting in the summer of 2025, any club could bring him in for the value of the release clause in his contract with the German club.
Although Carlo Ancelotti still has an extended contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2026, most opinions point towards the Italian’s departure at the end of next season.
Some sources previously indicated that Alonso refused to coach Bayern Munich or Liverpool next season because his basic plan is to coach Real Madrid in the future, which is in line with the Royal Club’s aspirations to recruit him in 2025 as well.
Alonso has a unique relationship with Wirtz, and the duo was the main reason for Bayer Leverkusen winning the German League, as well as reaching the German Cup final and the European League final.
