L’Equipe reported that Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi categorically refuses to give Kylian Mbappe his salary for the months of May and June.
It was announced on Monday that Mbappé had joined Real Madrid on a free transfer after the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
According to the latest report, Al-Khelaifi is putting some kind of pressure on Mbappe by withholding his salary for 3 consecutive months (starting in April) until he gives up the loyalty bonus that he was supposed to earn months ago.
The contract concluded between PSG and the player stipulates that he is entitled to 80 million euros as a loyalty bonus for the past season, while Mbappe promised to waive it.
But so far, the 25-year-old has not provided any concrete evidence that he will waive it, and Al-Khelaifi wants the verbal agreement between the two parties to turn into a written agreement, after which his late salary will be paid to him.
French press reports had previously revealed that Mbappe had backed down from the idea of waiving his financial dues, and may resort to the courts to obtain the late salary and loyalty bonus, a total of approximately 100 million euros.
