It appears that Real Madrid will not include its second summer target, as The Athletic reports that Alphonso Davies is very close to renewing his contract with Bayern Munich.
Previously, it was said that the Spanish club had already reached an agreement with Davies to join its ranks this summer, and all that remains is for the agreement to be reached with Bayern Munich.
But what is new is that Real Madrid’s management has stopped communicating with Davies in the past three months, while the Spanish club made a largely acceptable offer to renew the player’s contract.
At the present moment, the Canadian international is inclined to renew his contract with Bayern Munich instead of moving to Real Madrid, although negotiations with the Merengues resumed after the end of the Champions League.
Bayern granted Davies a renewal offer for 13 million euros annually, and new coach Vincent Kompany confirmed that the 23-year-old player is an important part of his plans for next season.
It is noteworthy that the financial value that Bayern will demand to sell Davies if the renewal negotiations fail is up to 50 million euros, and Real Madrid does not want to complete the deal except for a maximum of 30 million.
