“Sport” newspaper reported that an important meeting was held between Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, and the agent of the Leipzig star, Dani Olmo, to discuss the player’s joining the Catalan club.
“Sport” indicates that Olmo is one of coach Hansi Flick’s priorities, and that is why the Barcelona administration is moving to include the player, who seems to have an initial desire to return again to Camp Nou.
According to the latest report, Deco informed Olmo’s agent that Barcelona will do everything in its power to include the player, and the duo also began discussing the financial terms of the deal.
The Spanish player can leave Leipzig in exchange for a release clause worth 60 million euros, but Barcelona cannot pay this amount and intends to contact the German club to negotiate the matter.
At the same time, Olmo is the focus of interest from many major European clubs and has great financial offers that Barcelona cannot match, but Deco has a plan to convince the player that Barcelona is his ideal destination.
This plan, which he informed his agent, was to receive a lower salary than what was offered to him by other clubs, in exchange for being given a long five-year contract, thus ensuring stability that he would not find anywhere else.
It is noteworthy that Barcelona is also playing the card of the Olmo family, which is located in the Catalonia region. With Olmo’s return, he will be next to them, something he previously confirmed his desire for during press statements.
It is worth noting that Olmo played for Barcelona’s youth team from 2007 until he left for Dinamo Zagreb in 2014, and from there he arrived to Leipzig in 2020 for 29 million euros.
