“Sport” newspaper confirmed that former Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez received many offers from inside and outside Europe to return again to the world of coaching.
At the end of last season, Xavi was dismissed from coaching Barcelona due to his statements in which he considered that the Catalan club was not qualified to compete with the adults due to the economic crisis.
According to “Sport”, more than one offer has reached Xavi from Saudi and Qatari league clubs, as well as clubs in Europe that will compete in the Champions League next season.
But Xavi rejected these offers, and still believes that the best option for him is a year of rest after a 25-year career in football, whether as a player or as a coach.
The Catalan coach wants to stay away from pressures throughout this year, which he will spend with his family in the city of Ibiza, after which he can return to work again as a coach with full energy.
It is noteworthy that during his career with Barcelona, Xavi succeeded in winning the Spanish League title and the Super Cup, but in his final season he did not succeed in winning any championship.
