Ronaldo announces sad news… Retirement is very imminent!

Cristiano Ronaldo announced that his participation with the Portugal national team in Euro 2024 is his last in his record of participation in the European Nations Cup competition.

Ronaldo is the player who has participated most in the Euro in history, having played 6 consecutive editions. He is also the most scored player with 14 goals, and the most assisted goals with 8 goals.

Don has reached the age of 39, and one of the indicators that he is close to retiring from football is his confirmation that this Euro will be his last.

Ronaldo said in an interview with the media, “This is definitely the last Euro tournament I will play as a player.”

He also added, “But this is not my primary motivation or what affects me. What drives me is my passion and enthusiasm for football.”

Ronaldo missed a penalty kick in the Slovenia match, before scoring a penalty kick afterward and apologizing to the fans. Regarding that, he said, “I’m sorry to the fans. I will always give everything I have for this shirt, whether I miss or score.”

He concluded, “I will continue to do this all my life. I have to take responsibility.”

Perhaps Ronaldo’s speech confirms what was said previously that he aspires to participate in the 2026 World Cup in North America and then retire from football.

Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr expires in the summer of 2025, but negotiations between the two parties are advanced to renew the contract for another year.
