CAF issues a historic penalty against Zamalek due to the Confederation Cup final

The Confederation of African Football announced a historic fine against Zamalek club due to the events of the Confederation Cup final against RS Berkane.

After Zamalek won 1-0 over RS Berkane and won the title, there was a case of lack of organization at the coronation ceremony at Cairo International Stadium, which angered everyone.

Because of this, CAF decided to fine Zamalek $200,000, or 10% of the $2 million reward for the Confederation’s investigation.

At the same time, Zamalek will be deprived of its fans in the next 4 matches in the Confederation by decision of CAF, with the implementation of the decision suspended for two matches.

This means that the White Knight will play the round of 32 match at home without fans in attendance, as well as the first match in the group stage.

Zamalek announced that it was in the process of appealing and filing a grievance against this harsh punishment in order to reduce it as much as possible, and the White Club considered it an “unjust” and illogical punishment.
