Did Ronaldo say “In the Name of God” before taking the penalty kick against France?

French football star Paul Pogba sparked controversy after he insisted that Cristiano Ronaldo said “In the Name of God” before taking the penalty kick in the match between Portugal and France.

Pogba was watching the match on television, and took a video while Ronaldo entered to take the penalty kick, during which he said, “He is saying in the name of God.”

Pogba is a Muslim, and therefore he is familiar with Arabic terminology. He confirms that Ronaldo, at the moment he arrived in the penalty area in preparation for taking the kick, said “In the Name of God.”

In general, this is not the first time that Ronaldo has been said to have used Islamic terms, especially since his influence by the Saudi environment is clear in the past months since his move to Al-Nassr.

It is noteworthy that Ronaldo succeeded in scoring the penalty kick, but Portugal lost 5-3 and was eliminated from Euro 2024 in the quarter-finals.

It is also worth noting that Pogba faces a 4-year ban for doping.
