A new step confirms the approaching transfer of Nico Williams to Barcelona

Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams has made a new move that may indicate that he is close to moving to Barcelona during the current summer Mercato.

Barcelona President Joan Laporta announced his club’s desire to sign the 19-year-old, while the newspaper “Sport” confirmed the existence of an agreement between the Blaugrana and the player on the personal terms of the deal.

According to Spanish media, Williams’ agent reached out to real estate agents to buy a house for the player in the town of Castelldefels, located inside Barcelona.

The majority of Barça players live in Castelldefels, which is the closest destination for almost all the new players joining Barcelona in recent years, which reinforces the news that there is already an agreement between Williams and the Catalan club.

The matter currently remains in Barcelona’s hands, as Laporta’s management must pay 60 million euros, which is the value of the release clause in Williams’ contract with Athletic Bilbao, and then it can sign the player without a crisis.

It remains to be noted that the “Sport” newspaper confirmed Williams’ condition for ending the deal early, specifically at the beginning of August at the latest, otherwise he would prefer to stay with Bilbao.
