Angel Di Maria believes that winning the Ballon d’Or eight times for Lionel Messi gives him the advantage over the other legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, in terms of everything.
Di Maria partnered with Ronaldo for years at Real Madrid, and he is still with Messi in the Argentina national team and was a key factor in the flea winning the Copa America and World Cup double.
When asked during an interview with L’Equipe newspaper about the better player between Messi and Ronaldo, Di Maria answered, saying, “The matter is settled because the best is the one who has won the largest number of Ballons d’Or, and Leo has 8 compared to Ronaldo’s 5.”
He also added, “Messi and Ronaldo only think about winning. This is the mentality that enabled them to achieve everything they have achieved in football.”
He concluded, “They are still the focus of public attention even though they play in America and Saudi Arabia. This can tell you everything about them.”
It is noteworthy that Di Maria will play his last match with Argentina in the Copa America final, but it may not be his last with Messi, as some reports indicate that he may move to Inter Miami this summer.
