A surprising request from Yamal’s agent for Barcelona

Sport reported that Lamine Yamal’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has clearly asked Barcelona’s management to give the 17-year-old a significant increase in his salary.

Yamal’s contract with Barcelona is still extended until 2026, and there is an agreement between the two parties to renew the contract again until 2030.

Over the past weeks, in light of Yamal’s brilliance and that he is the number one star in Spanish football, Mendes communicated with Barcelona’s management and spoke to them clearly that the player’s most basic right is a significant increase in his salary.

Indeed, Yamal receives a much larger salary than any footballer receives in his first professional contract after reaching the age of 16, but the Portuguese believes that his client deserves much more than that.

On Barcelona’s part, there is no intention at all to allow the owner of Moroccan origins to leave, and there is a tendency among Joan Laporta’s management to meet all of the player’s requests as “the new Messi.”

Perhaps within the next few days, Barcelona will increase Yamal’s salary, or in the worst case, will wait until next year to do so.
