Barcelona star decides to leave the Catalan club permanently!

Mundo Deportivo has confirmed that Sergi Roberto has informed Barcelona’s management that he will not renew his contract and will leave the Catalan club immediately.

Roberto’s contract with the Blaugrana expired at the end of last season, and the club asked him to wait until August 10 to be registered in case the club succeeded in resolving the financial fair play crisis.

However, according to the latest report, Roberto has decided not to wait another month to explore his options, and has bid farewell to Barça officials, informing them that he will embark on a new experience in his career.

The 32-year-old is currently attracting interest from several clubs, including Valencia and Girona, but he is keen to try a new experience outside La Liga, specifically in the English Premier League.

With his departure from Barcelona, Roberto will bring the curtain down on a 14-year career at the Camp Nou, and will play for another club for the first time in his career other than the Catalan giants.

Roberto made 373 appearances for Barcelona’s first team, scoring 19 goals and providing 43 assists, winning La Liga seven times, the Champions League twice and the Copa del Rey six times.
