According to Sport newspaper, Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams has informed his agent that he is not interested in moving to Paris Saint-Germain or any club other than Barcelona this summer.
French media had reported that Paris Saint-Germain had entered the race to sign Williams in the past few hours at the request of coach Luis Enrique.
However, according to the latest report, Williams is clear about his desire this summer: either move to Barcelona or stay with Athletic Bilbao for another season.
Despite the fact that Paris Saint-Germain’s financial offer is larger than Barcelona’s, the player is not interested in this aspect and sees joining Lamine Yamal at the Blaugrana as the best option for his career.
It is now up to Barcelona to decide the deal, as the club needs to come up with 58 million euros, the value of the player’s release clause with Athletic Bilbao, while making room in the squad to register the 22-year-old in compliance with Financial Fair Play rules.
It is worth noting that Williams has informed Barcelona that the deal must be finalized early and not wait until the end of August to avoid putting Bilbao in a difficult position.
