Mundo Deportivo has reported that Barcelona star Vitor Roque has rejected the idea of moving to Al-Hilal this summer transfer window.
Reports have circulated in recent days that Al-Hilal is pursuing the 19-year-old, while Barcelona’s management welcomes the player’s departure after failing to integrate well at Camp Nou so far.
However, the latest report indicates that Roque refuses to give up and wants to travel with the Barcelona squad on their US tour and try to convince coach Hansi Flick of his abilities.
In addition, even if he leaves Barcelona, the player prefers to continue in Europe rather than move to the Saudi league despite the high financial compensation he would receive there.
Roque’s main plan now is to fight for continuity at Barcelona during the US tour, and if he fails, he will not mind leaving but his only condition is to leave permanently and not on loan.
It remains unknown whether any European club is willing to pay the same amount that Barcelona bought the player for last January, which is 40 million euros.
Roque is not the first Barcelona player to reject a move to the Saudi league, as Raphinha was also a target for Al-Hilal, but the player also chose to stay with the Catalan club.
