Ancelotti Requests Summer Signing, But Real Madrid Says No

The Athletic has revealed that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has asked the club’s management to sign a center-back during the current summer transfer window.

Currently, Real Madrid only has Antonio Rudiger and Eder Militao as center-backs after the departure of captain Nacho and with David Alaba’s injury keeping him out until 2025.

Real Madrid tried to fulfill Ancelotti’s request by signing Leny Yoro, but the player ultimately chose to join Manchester United.

According to the latest report, Real Madrid’s management has analyzed the situation and informed Ancelotti that they will not be signing another center-back this summer.

The management justified its decision by stating that it has confidence in the Italian coach’s ability to make the most of the current resources available to his team, ensuring that there is no feeling of a crisis in the center-back position.

Florentino Perez’s administration promised Ancelotti that they would reconsider signing a new defender again next winter.

As a result, Ancelotti will have to use Aurelien Tchouameni as the third option in the center of defense, and may also play Dani Carvajal or Ferland Mendy in that position when needed.

It’s worth noting that Real Madrid has signed Kylian Mbappe and Endrick this summer, giving them an abundance of players in the attacking line, in contrast to the difficult situation in the center of defense.
