Al Jazira FC has officially announced the signing of Egyptian star Mohamed Elneny on a free transfer.
Elneny’s contract with Arsenal expired at the end of last season, and the English club announced in May the end of the Egyptian Pharaoh’s journey there after 8 seasons at the Emirates Stadium.
Al Jazira has not yet announced the details of Elneny’s transfer or the duration of the contract, but it is highly likely that the 32-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Emirati club.
Elneny is currently leading the Egyptian Olympic team at the Paris 2024 Olympics, and he has delivered a remarkable performance in the first two group stage matches.
It is worth noting that Elneny played 161 matches for Arsenal in all competitions, scoring 6 goals and providing 10 assists. He won 3 titles with the Gunners, winning the FA Cup once and the Community Shield twice.
