Journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the collapse of the transfer of Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson to Al-Ittihad during the current summer transfer window.
The Brazilian goalkeeper was a candidate to join Al-Nassr, before negotiations stalled due to City’s high demands of €60 million for his sale.
Al-Ittihad, in search of a world-class goalkeeper, then emerged, but according to Romano, negotiations between the two parties have been frozen for the past week.
Al-Ittihad’s management has begun searching for alternatives to Ederson and has settled on signing goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic from Real Mallorca.
Romano confirms that negotiations between Al-Ittihad and Mallorca are at a very advanced stage and that the deal will most likely be completed, completely closing the Ederson file.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has repeatedly stated that he wishes Ederson would stay, but has given him the right to decide his own future.
