Morocco meets Spain in the quarter-finals of the Paris 2024 Olympics

The Moroccan Olympic team has written a new chapter in history after successfully eliminating the United States from the quarter-finals of the 2024 Paris Olympics with a 4-0 victory at the Parc des Princes.

Sofiane Rahimi gave Morocco the lead from a penalty in the 29th minute, taking his tally to five goals in the Olympics and extending his lead at the top of the scorers’ chart.
In the second half, Elias Akhomach scored the second goal in the 63rd minute, followed by Achraf Hakimi’s third goal in the 70th minute, and Mohoub completed the rout in the 90th minute.

With this result, the Moroccan team qualifies for the semi-finals of the Olympics for the first time in its history and is now very close to winning the first team medal in the history of the “Atlas Lions”.

The Moroccan national team will meet its counterpart, the Spanish national team, after the Matadors defeated Japan 3-0, in a repeat of the confrontation between the two teams that took place in the 2022 World Cup in the round of 16, which the Moroccans won on penalties.
