Pedri’s Return Date to Barcelona Uncertain

Sport newspaper has reported that Pedri Gonzalez will not be able to make Barcelona’s league opener against Valencia on August 17th.

Pedri suffered a serious knee injury while playing for the Spanish national team at Euro 2024, specifically in the quarter-final match against Germany.

According to Sport, the 20-year-old’s recovery will take more time, and it is likely that he will not be able to play against Valencia at Mestalla.

However, there is still hope that the player will recover in time to be ready to play some minutes against Athletic Bilbao on August 24th.

If the player is unable to play against the Basque club, it is certain that he will lead Flick’s squad against Rayo Vallecano in the third round of La Liga.

It’s worth noting that Pedri has not yet participated in Barcelona’s pre-season preparations, and is expected to return in the second week to train on the grass and then gradually join the group.
