Real Madrid Target Spurs Star, but Tottenham Demands €150 Million

According to TYC Sports, Real Madrid was interested in signing Tottenham’s defender Cristian Romero to solve their defensive crisis this summer.

Real Madrid currently only has Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger as fit center-backs, with David Alaba sidelined until the new year.

The Argentine network reported that signing Cristian Romero was Real Madrid’s first choice, and there was indeed contact between the Spanish giants and Tottenham.

However, the English club made it clear that Romero was not for sale, and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy was adamant that his club would not even discuss the matter.

In general, even for Levy to consider discussing Romero, Tottenham’s initial asking price was at least €150 million, a figure that Real Madrid would certainly not pay, regardless of the player’s value.

It is worth noting that Real Madrid failed to sign Loïc Badé due to his former club Lille demanding €50 million, while Real Madrid was only willing to pay a maximum of €30 million.
