Liverpool Identify Their Big Summer Signing

The Athletic has reported that Liverpool’s management has identified the player they will try to sign in the remaining days of the current summer transfer window.

So far, the Reds have not signed any new players, and manager Jurgen Klopp has stated in recent days that his team needs midfield reinforcements.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool’s management is trying to sign Real Sociedad player Martin Zubimendi.

The deal will not be easy for Liverpool for two reasons. Firstly, the release clause in the player’s contract with the Basque club is 60 million euros, and it is difficult for Sociedad to waive or reduce this amount.

The second reason lies with the player himself, as he has received many other offers, and Liverpool’s management will have to convince him of Klopp’s project to get his approval.

According to the report, Liverpool’s management has also opened a line of communication with Sociedad, hoping to convince them to accept a lower amount than 60 million euros or a different way of paying the fee.

Zubimendi is considered one of the brightest young talents in football in recent years, and he was an integral part of Spain’s success in winning Euro 2024 after playing and excelling in the final against England.
