Official: Barcelona Signs Dani Olmo

Barcelona has officially announced its first signing of the summer, bringing in Dani Olmo from Leipzig.

The Spanish star has signed a long-term contract of 6 years, keeping him at Camp Nou until the summer of 2030, with a release clause of 500 million euros to protect him from any interest in the coming years.

Barcelona did not announce the transfer fee for Olmo in its statement, but according to the media, it exceeded 50 million euros with additional payments depending on the player’s individual and collective successes.

This is not the first time Olmo has set foot in Barcelona, as he played for Barcelona’s La Masia academy from 2007 until he left in 2014 for Dinamo Zagreb.

The friendly match against Monaco next Monday in the Joan Gamper Cup will be the player’s first with Barcelona, and he is expected to be in the starting lineup for the La Liga opener against Valencia on August 17.
