Saudi media reports suggest that Al-Nassr is leaning towards sacking coach Luis Castro if the team fails to win the Saudi Super Cup.
The Portuguese coach has failed to win any official titles over the past season, finishing as runners-up in both the league and cup, and also losing the Super Cup and the AFC Champions League.
Al-Nassr’s start to the new season has been poor, with the team losing almost all of their friendly matches and delivering a lackluster performance that has raised doubts about whether Castro is the right coach to lead the team.
According to reports, Al-Nassr’s management will consider the Saudi Super Cup as a last chance for their coach, and if he fails to win the title, he will be dismissed immediately.
The WINWIN website has revealed that Castro’s replacement at Al-Nassr will also be Portuguese, and he is former Porto coach Sergio Conceicao.
Conceicao left Porto at the end of last season after achieving numerous successes with them, including winning the league, cup, and super cup three times.
Al-Nassr will begin their season with a match against Al-Taawoun in the Super Cup semi-finals on August 14th. If they win, they will face the winner of the Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli match two days later.
