Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has confirmed that midfielder Fabio Carvalho will be leaving the club in the coming hours, having reached an agreement with a new club.
According to English media reports, Carvalho is set to join Brentford, after the London club reached an agreement with both the player and Liverpool on all the details.
Speaking after the friendly matches against Sevilla and Las Palmas on Sunday, Klopp said, “As far as I know, there is an agreement in place and he will leave, but I was just focusing on today’s game.”
Regarding the possibility of making new signings, the Dutchman replied, “I inherited a strong team, we are like any club of our size, we are always looking to see if we can strengthen the squad.”
Liverpool are currently trying to persuade Martin Zubimendi to join the club, while the player is still undecided about staying with Real Sociedad or taking the next step in his career.
As for Carvalho, he has only played 21 games for Liverpool, scoring three goals, after being signed by the Reds in 2022 for €6 million and loaned out twice to Leipzig and Hull City.
