Ancelotti: “I’m living in a ‘honeymoon’ with Real Madrid that I can’t believe”

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti expressed his immense happiness at the club, stating that he is currently living in a “honeymoon” period.

The Italian coach took over at Real Madrid in 2021, succeeding Zinedine Zidane, and since then has achieved numerous successes, most notably winning both La Liga and the Champions League titles.

Speaking ahead of Real Madrid’s first La Liga match of the season against Mallorca, Ancelotti said, “I think I’m living the longest honeymoon in history. I’m so happy to be at Real Madrid.”

He added, “In 2021 when I arrived here, I don’t think anyone thought I would be sitting here after 3 years with all the titles I’ve won.”

When asked if Real Madrid were the favorites to win La Liga, he replied, “We will fight to win it. Spanish football has high quality and you saw that in the Euros and the Olympics. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are stronger now, it’s an enjoyable league.”

He concluded by talking about the long season ahead for Real Madrid, “We are thinking about giving the players rest during the season itself, so that they can rest for a week or more and return to their families, especially those who play for the national teams.”
