Nottingham Forest’s match against Bournemouth in the first round of the Premier League witnessed a truly horrific injury to Danilo.
The Brazilian player, while attempting to win the ball from Antoine Semenyo, fell on his foot in a terrifying manner, causing his shin to move in a shocking way.
Referee Mike Oliver was stunned by the sight of Danilo’s foot and immediately called for medical assistance, amidst the astonishment of all the players on the field.
Security personnel raised flags in the middle of the pitch to cover what was happening from the eyes of the fans and cordoned off the area, before the player was carried off on a stretcher to applause from the crowd.
This incident occurred just 15 minutes into the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw, and it seems that Danilo will be out of action for a long time.
