Egyptian media has revealed a change in the schedule for the 2024 Egyptian Super Cup, which is set to take place in the United Arab Emirates.
Previously, it was announced that the tournament would be held on October 1st, but this date clashed with the international break during which the Egyptian national team will participate in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
According to reports, the Egyptian Super Cup will now be held between October 17th and 21st in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi.
The Super Cup will be played in its new format with the participation of four teams, two of which have already been determined: Al Ahly as the Egyptian league champion, and Ceramica Cleopatra as the Egyptian League Cup champion.
The Egyptian Cup final will be played next week, and its winner will be the third participant, while the fourth team will be invited by the Egyptian Football Association.
It is worth noting that Al Ahly won last year’s edition after defeating Future in extra time 4-2.
