Journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Roma is close to reaching an agreement with Al-Hilal to sign Saud Abdulhamid.
Abdulhamid’s contract with Al-Hilal ends at the end of the current season, and his desire is clear to have a professional experience and become the first Saudi player to play in the Italian league.
According to Romano, Al-Hilal will receive only 2.5 million euros for the sale of the 23-year-old to Roma.
The contract will also include the possibility of this amount increasing but not significantly, depending on the player’s individual performance and Roma’s overall results.
Reims tried to snatch Abdulhamid from Roma, but the Italian club managed to agree with the player first and also convince Al-Hilal’s management.
The Saudi international is now awaiting the green light from Al-Hilal to travel to the Italian capital and sign the contracts if the two clubs reach an agreement on some terms in the coming hours.
