Barcelona has officially announced the transfer of its player, Mika Faye, to Rennes in France.
The young defender has never played an official match for the first team, but he trained this summer with Hansi Flick’s squad before the German ordered his departure.
Faye received several offers, both from Porto in Portugal and English clubs, before settling on a five-year contract with Rennes.
According to the media, the Faye deal will bring more than 10 million euros to Barcelona’s coffers.
Barcelona retains the right to buy back the Senegalese player in the future for 25 million euros, and if Rennes sells him to another club, Barca will receive 30% of the deal value.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Faye deal will not contribute to registering Dani Olmo, as he was not registered with the first team’s salaries in the first place.
The decisive factor for registering the Spanish international will be finalizing the loan transfer of Clement Lenglet to Atletico Madrid and deleting more than 80% of his salary from the Blaugrana’s wage bill.
