Al-Nassr reached an agreement with Leipzig to sign its defender Mohammed Simakan on the last day of the summer transfer market.
Al-Nassr searched throughout the transfer market to sign a new central defender, and was linked to many names, most notably Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos and Paris Saint-Germain defender Milan Škriniar.
Skriniar was on the verge of joining the Saudi club, but at the last moment he informed the Al-Nassr management of his rejection of the offer and his preference to continue in Europe.
According to the newspaper “Asharq Al-Awsat”, Al-Nassr agreed with Leipzig to sign Simakan for 40 million euros to be paid in 4 installments.
The player agreed to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and sign a 5-year contract, and he must undergo a medical examination in the next few hours, after which the deal will be officially announced.
It should be noted that Simakan was a target for many major European clubs, and the 24-year-old is considered one of the best promising defenders in the world.
