Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario believes that his compatriot Vinicius Junior is the player who deserves to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
France Football magazine announced a list of 30 players nominated for the Ballon d’Or, and the competition is fierce between Vinicius, his Real Madrid teammate Jude Bellingham, and Euro 2024 champion Rodri.
In an interview with the Brazilian network ESPN, Ronaldo was asked about who he sees as most deserving of the Ballon d’Or, to which he replied, “I think Vinicius is the most deserving of it this year.”
He also added, “His level was amazing in the Champions League and the Spanish League, and it was clear how much he has developed over the past years.”
He continued, “I still remember his first days at Real Madrid, I am in constant contact with him and I know his personality well, and considering his technical level, this is a wonderful development.”
“It’s time for Vinicius to win the Ballon d’Or. He has been decisive with Real Madrid this year. I think he is the best player in the world right now, by a long shot,” he concluded.
