Officially.. Real Madrid renews the contract of its star for 6 years!

Real Madrid announced in an official statement the renewal of the contract of its goalkeeper Andriy Lunin for 6 years.

The Ukrainian goalkeeper’s old contract was due to expire in the summer of 2025, and he was linked to many clubs during the past Mercato, most notably Arsenal.

In the end, Lunin closed the curtain on this controversy, and decided to continue and sign a new contract with Real until June 2030.

Lunin arrived at Real Madrid in 2018, and played his first match with the first team in 2020.

Lunin defended the Real Madrid logo in 48 matches in all tournaments, and won 10 titles, including two Champions League titles.

The Ukrainian will continue as Real Madrid’s second goalkeeper, and practically speaking, he has no chance to play as a starter in the presence of Thibaut Courtois unless the Belgian goalkeeper is injured or suspended.
