Anthony Martial has officially completed his move to AEK Athens with a historic contract.
The French international’s contract with Manchester United expired at the end of last season, and he spent the summer looking for a new club to move to on a free transfer.
Ultimately, Martial agreed to join AEK Athens, where he signed a contract that keeps him in Greece until the summer of 2027.
According to Greek media, the 28-year-old will receive the highest salary in AEK Athens’ history.
The contract stipulates that Martial will earn £2.5 million annually, in addition to add-ons that will bring the salary to £7.5 million.
It should be noted that AEK Athens also includes Erik Lamela, one of the former Premier League celebrities, who receives £1.7 million annually.
