Fattouh asks the family of his victim to forgive and pardon him

Zamalek player Ahmed Fattouh posted a message on his Instagram account asking the family of Ahmed El-Shoubaki to forgive him.

A traffic accident claimed the life of Ahmed El-Shoubaki, who worked as a police officer, after Fattouh’s car ran him over at high speed on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road.

The Matrouh Criminal Court agreed to release Fattouh pending investigation in order to try to reconcile with the victim’s family.

Fattouh wrote a message to the victim’s family after his release that included “I offer my sincere condolences to the family of the late Mr. Ahmed El-Shoubaki.”

He continued, “There are no words to express the sadness inside me, but it is God’s will and destiny, and there are no words or actions that can change or alleviate the pain of the family of the deceased.”

“I hope that the family of the deceased will allow me to visit them to offer my condolences, perhaps it will remove the worries and sadness I carry in my chest, especially since what happened will remain stuck in my mind and heart until my last breath.”

Regarding what was raised about my going to the club’s training, it was not intended to intentionally hurt the feelings of the deceased’s family, but I am committed to a contract with the club and have been absent for more than 40 days with an excuse known to everyone, and I must adhere to the terms of my contract, especially since no one knows what fate has in store for us except God Almighty. All I hope for is that my Lord forgives me for what has passed and what is to come.

“I pledge to myself before God Almighty that the daughters of the deceased Mr. Ahmed Al-Shabaki are in the position of my younger sisters and I am fully responsible for them. All I hope for is that they forgive and pardon, and God is witness to what I say.”
