Ancelotti sets date for Real Madrid’s ‘explosion’

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti believes his team will explode and look much better than they did at the start of the season by October.

Real Madrid have been subject to a lot of criticism, the latest of which was after their hard-fought 3-1 win over Stuttgart in the Champions League last Tuesday.

The royal club is preparing for the sixth round of La Liga, when they meet Espanyol on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Ancelotti was asked about the Merengues’ level in the pre-match press conference, and he replied, “We know that we have not reached our best level yet.”

He added, “We are improving little by little, the season is still long, we are not thinking about our rivals at the moment.”

He continued, “We always start the season less and do not look good in September, but starting in October we improve a lot, I expect that to happen this season as well.”

“We noticed the mistakes we made against Stuttgart, we had defensive mistakes and that’s what happened to Barcelona yesterday when they lost the ball against Monaco, we have a problem like them in the build-up phase,” he continued.

“We won the last two games and we want to continue winning. I see our fans happy with how we play, and we always try to make them happy. Real Madrid fans prefer to win than to play well.”
