Enrique: It’s a shame that Mbappé moved to Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique expressed his sadness at the loss of Kylian Mbappé, wishing him success in his new journey with Real Madrid.

Mbappé had refused to renew his contract with PSG, which ended at the end of last season, and then moved for free to Real Madrid, where he has been shining so far at the Santiago Bernabéu.

In an interview with Canal +, Enrique recalled Mbappé’s departure, saying, “I met a truly great player who was at an exceptional level in everything.”

He added, “It’s hard to find someone as great as that. He’s a caring and wonderful person, as well as a very special footballer.”

He continued, “Mbappé is a great player by all standards, it’s a shame that he left for Real Madrid, especially for Paris Saint-Germain at this time.”

It is worth noting that Mbappé thanked Enrique in particular after he protected him from the brutality of the PSG management, who wanted to keep him out of matches last season when he informed them of his desire to leave, had it not been for the coach’s intervention.
