Alaves coach Luis Garcia Plaza launched a fierce attack on the referee of his team’s match against Real Madrid, considering him one of the reasons for the royal club’s 3-2 win on Tuesday in La Liga.
Garcia and the Alaves players demanded that the Brazilian Endrick receive a red card after a scene in which he hit the opponent’s defender hard, but the referee was content to give the player a yellow card.
After the match, Garcia spoke to Carlo Ancelotti and expressed his great anger at what happened, then went out to the press and repeated the same thing.
Plaza said in this regard, “Endrick’s case deserved a red card and we should have played the last 10 minutes with an extra player.”
He also added, “Endrick’s intention was clear to harm, he deserved to be sent off in an indisputable way and nothing else.”
He concluded, “Endrick’s behavior is clear to everyone and everyone saw it, it is a clear red card and I do not really understand the referee’s decision.”
If Endrick had been sent off, Alaves would have played the final minutes with a numerical advantage, and with it their chances of scoring the equaliser and coming away with a point from the Santiago Bernabeu would have increased.
