Official statement from Manchester City raises the mystery about Rodri’s injury

Manchester City issued an official statement explaining the condition of its star Rodri after the injury he suffered in the last match against Arsenal in the Premier League.

Initial reports indicated that the Spanish international had suffered a cruciate ligament tear and would be absent until the end of the season, before Pep Guardiola said that the injury did not appear to be like that.

City increased the mystery about Rodri’s condition after it did not mention the cruciate ligament in its statement on Wednesday evening, and with it the expected period of his absence from the stadiums remains unclear.

The English club wrote that Rodri suffers from an injury “at the ligament level” in his right knee, and will travel to Spain to consult another doctor and undergo further tests.

The statement added that the evaluation is still ongoing to determine the extent of the injury and the expected diagnosis, and that another statement will be issued in due course to reveal all the details.

Guardiola said about Rodri’s absence: “Last season we played three months without Haaland and five months without De Bruyne and in the end we won the Premier League, we have to deal with it as a team, we will find a solution.”

Initially, Rodri is expected to be out for a not-so-short period, but if the injury is not in the cruciate ligament, the period of absence will be much less than eight months and he may play other matches this season.
