Egyptian media reported that the Egyptian Football Association has settled on the new and final date for the 2024 Egyptian Super Cup, scheduled to be held in the Emirates.
It was previously announced that the competition would be played between October 18 and 21, but it was postponed due to the Egyptian national team playing a match against the Mauritanian national team in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
According to recent reports, the tournament will not be postponed to December or next year as rumored, but will only be postponed for 48 hours.
The date of the Egyptian Super Cup will be October 20, while the final match will be held on the 24th of the same month.
Al-Ahly, the Egyptian League champion, will meet Ceramica Cleopatra, the League Cup champion, while Pyramids, the Egypt Cup champion, will meet Zamalek, who participates with the golden card.
If the two clubs win the semi-final, it will be a new derby less than a month after the derby that was played in the African Super Cup, which Zamalek won on penalties 4-3.
It is worth noting that the last confrontation between Al-Ahly and Zamalek in the Egyptian Super Cup was in the Emirates, and the Red Devils won 2-0 at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.
