Zamalek board member, Hany Shukry, confirmed that his club has withdrawn from negotiations to sign Sergio Ramos on a free transfer.
Egyptian media had linked Zamalek to signing Ramos, and according to one of the players’ agents, the Whites have already submitted an offer to the Spanish legend.
However, Hany Shukry announced the failure of the negotiations, saying in media statements, “It is difficult for Sergio Ramos to move to Zamalek now.”
He also added, “I believe that if the negotiations had started earlier, we could have completed the deal.”
He concluded, “Ramos welcomed joining Zamalek and playing in Egypt, but we did not reach an agreement in the end.”
It is noteworthy that Zamalek announced the signing of Guinean defender Jefferson Costa, who is 19 years old, to be the final reinforcement in the center-back position.
