German football legend Michael Ballack confirmed that the rumors that he entered into a romantic relationship with the girlfriend of his late son Emilio are baseless.
Emilio Ballack died at the age of 18 in 2021 in the Portuguese capital Lisbon following a tragic accident, and since then it has been said that Ballack has been dating his son’s 23-year-old girlfriend.
Ballack published an official statement in which he denied the news and said, “I feel that I am unfortunately obliged to provide a clarification following recent media reports.”
He also added, “My life partner Sofia is not the ex-girlfriend of my late son and was not his friend.”
Ballack asked all parties to respect his privacy and not to expose this matter, stressing that he will take the necessary legal measures against those spreading this rumor.
It is noteworthy that Ballack, 48, separated from his wife and the mother of his children in 2012.
