Zamalek close to signing former Liverpool and Arsenal player

Egyptian media reported that Zamalek club is close to signing a player who previously played for Liverpool and Arsenal youth teams.

According to the news, coach Jose Gomez has nominated Ovie Ejaria to move to the White Knight, and the player will undergo a test before deciding his fate.

The 25-year-old has been without a club since terminating his contract with Reading in January 2024, and is good at playing in midfield and the left wing.

Due to his long absence from the stadiums, the Zamalek management refused to sign him immediately, and he will initially undergo a test period, after which a decision will be taken

Ejaria began his football career with Arsenal youth teams, then moved to Liverpool in 2014, and played with the first team for two years before moving to Sunderland.

The British player of Nigerian origin played for Scottish club Rangers, and was bought by Reading in the summer of 2020 from Liverpool for 4 million euros, where he spent the last 4 years before leaving in January 2024.

It is worth noting that Zamalek has made 6 summer deals so far after signing Omar Farag, Mohamed Hamdy, Mahmoud Bentayge, Konrad Michalak, Sidi Ndiaye and Jefferson Costa.
